How we run the plan

Three rules you can hold us to

  • Members go first

Same day when you call by 4pm, ahead of everyone else. The members' breakdown line answers 24/7, with no after-hours charge on the plan.

  • The same technician, by name

Your reminder names your technician, the same person every visit, and you hear before that ever changes. A booked visit is never cancelled without a call and a new date within 7 days.

  • Nothing is sold on a plan visit

If a part needs replacing, the price comes by email and you decide when it suits you. When a system is near the end, we tell you a year or two ahead, with the reasons.

How long a system lasts here

Each Los Angeles season wears on a different part

The spring and fall visits are timed to get ahead of all four.

  1. Spring · March to May · spring visit

Salt air on the outdoor coil

Near the ocean, salt air can corrode the thin fins of the outdoor coil, a little more each year.

The spring visit rinses it before the hot weeks.

  2. Summer · June to August

    The long hot weeks

A heat wave can keep the AC running for hours, and a weak part often gives out then, such as the capacitor that helps the motors start.

We test it every spring. If something quits anyway, members go first.

  3. Fall · September to November · fall visit

    Santa Ana dust and ash

Santa Ana winds and wildfire ash can clog a filter in weeks, and a clogged filter makes the blower strain.

The fall visit changes the filter before the heating season.

  4. Winter · December to February

    The first cold night

A furnace that sat since spring often shows its fault the night it's first needed: a pilot that won't stay lit, or an igniter that clicks and quits.

The fall visit lights it first, wall and floor furnaces included.

Questions about the plan

Something we haven't covered? Call 7am to 8pm (310) 857-2520

What's in the plan?

A cooling visit in spring and a heating visit in fall, both booked by us, with the same technician. Members pay no visit fee on repairs, go first when something breaks, and get an email after each visit on what to watch before next season. You can pay monthly or yearly.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. Call us or cancel online.

Will you try to sell me something on a plan visit?

No. Nothing is sold or signed on a plan visit. If something needs work, we email the price and you decide later.

Do I need the plan to get a repair?

No. We repair for everyone, same day when you call by noon. Members pay no visit fee.

If I join in summer or winter, when is my first visit?

Your first visit is the next one in the year: the fall heating visit if you join in summer, the spring cooling visit if you join in winter. Within 14 days of joining we text you its date and your technician's name. Member repair rules start the day you join.

What happens if my technician leaves?

We tell you before your next visit and name the technician taking over your street.

Is a tune-up worth it on an old system?

Usually, if it still runs well. A tune-up can catch a weak capacitor or a blocked drain before either one stops the system on a hot day. If we think it's near the end, we say so and explain why.

Does the fall visit cover a wall or floor furnace?

Yes. We clean around the burner and light the pilot, so it's ready for the first cold night. If it gives out between visits, we repair it any day we're open.

Your first visit is the next one on this calendar.

AC Experts LA books both visits a year for you. If something breaks before then, call by noon for a same-day repair.
